The strands of fungal mycelium on top of Pararita's head are incredibly sensitive to temperature and humidity. To prevent it from drying out, Pararita live in dense woodlands where little sunlight makes it through to the forest floor.

It waves its leaf around to keep foes at bay. Pararita are known to infest the roots of large trees en masse and drain nutrients.
