Paraligatr pins down prey with its large claws, then tears into it with its jaws. Although it is not fast in either land or water, it pursues other Pokémon without ever stopping to rest, catching up to its prey once it is exhausted by the chase.

It opens its huge mouth to intimidate enemies. Paraligatr are known to infest the roots of large trees en masse and drain nutrients.
