Paratar dig through the roots of mountains, carving their way through the tough bedrock in search of rich mineral veins. They feed on these minerals to fuel their mushroom's growth, lending the fruiting body a rich, earthy flavour.

A Paratar creates a gas inside its body that it ejects under compression to propel itself like a jet. Paratar are known to infest the roots of large trees en masse and drain nutrients.
