It spends most of its time buried in moist soil with only the mushrooms visible. If anything touches a mushroom, Parapert will burst out of the ground and attempt to bash the intruder by swinging its thick arms.
If it senses the approach of a storm and a tidal wave, it protects its seaside nest by piling up boulders. Parapert are known to infest the roots of large trees en masse and drain nutrients.
