Most of Paraflame's body is the fungus that infects them, leaving only their head and feet as their few uninfected parts. They rely on photosynthesis as their way of getting nutrients.

Paraflame flies high into the air to release flammable spores that spread the fungus. The mushroom releases fire when it is damaged.

In the fever of an exciting battle, it showers embers from the gaps between its feathers and takes to the air. Paraflame are known to infest the roots of large trees en masse and drain nutrients.
