Although it has a face, the mushroom on Parabuffet's back is a hollow decoy and scatters spores every time it is struck. This seems to be how the fungus spreads its spores, as Parabuffet deliberately seeks out aggressive Pokémon to attack it.
Usually docile, a Parabuffet strikes back ferociously if its black tail is attacked. Parabuffet are known to infest the roots of large trees en masse and drain nutrients.
