Sandyew are held together by dense psychic energy. Their form becomes more oblong as they use their powers and collapse into a pile of sand when overwhelmed.

Sandyew take abandoned recreational beach objects and set them back up. They've been seen lounging on towels, but will flee when approached. However, Sandyew will meekly join children who are building sandcastles.

A Sandyew is said to possess the genes of all Pokémon. It likes the shovel on its head, so Sandyew will get serious and fight any children who come to take it back.
