Shedsect's body is completely hollow, with nothing inside its hard dry shell except for white spores. These spores float out to leech life from any living thing they touch, then return back to Shedsect's dark interior.

Shedsect are known to infest the roots of large trees en masse and drain nutrients. A peculiar Pokémon that floats in air even though its wings remain completely still.
