Venupede spends most of its time in fields of tall grass, hiding beneath its own leaves to conceal it from flying Pokémon. If any do attack, Venupede will use the poisonous spike in the center of its flower to defend itself.
It discovers what is going on around it by using the feelers on its head and tail. Venupede's flower is said to take on vivid colors if it gets plenty of nutrition and sunlight.
