A sweet smell and movements of its vine-like tail lure prey inside Victreesect's hollow body. A fungus growing within incapacitates prey with toxic spores, then secretes enzymes to digest it into nutrients for both Victreesect and the fungus.

Victreesect are known to infest the roots of large trees en masse and drain nutrients. The long vine extending from its head is waved about as if it were a living thing to attract prey.
