Shellcargo use their mucus to create a thick layer of bubbles beneath their shell. They use the bubble layer as a lubricant, dragging themselves along it across the sea floor using their tongue.

In addition to its incredibly hard shell, Shellcargo secretes a sticky foam that makes it hard to eat. Because of this, it has very few predators, as most decide it is not worth the effort to hunt.

The shell on its back is made of hardened magma. At night, it burrows a hole in the seafloor with its broad tongue to make a place to sleep.
