Shroomsect digs up damp soil from the forest floor to eat. The mushroom on Shroomsect's back fills the space where its internal organs should be, including its brain, but it seems to function just as well as any other Grass-type Pokémon.

Shroomsect are known to infest the roots of large trees en masse and drain nutrients. It loves to eat damp, composted soil in forests.
