Dunbone has an innate sense for where things are buried. It drills into the ground with its tail to retrieve bones, which it feeds on. Archaeologists use Dunbone to find ancient burial sites but have to be careful they don't disturb them.
It pines for the mother it will never see again. Its drill-tipped tail is used to burrow into the ground backwards.
