Wild Gardemence will often use their large wings to shield younger and, or, weaker Pokémon and even allow them to ride on their backs. Thanks to its psychic powers, it can largely ignore the effects of gravity.

After many long years, its cellular structure underwent a sudden mutation to grow wings. It apparently does not feel the pull of gravity because it supports itself with psychic power.
