Rioper have no natural fear instinct, despite being prey for some species. It senses when it is being tracked and feels sadness when it can sense the predator's hunger. The sadness causes others of its kind to approach it, scaring off the predator.
Rioper usually live in water but come out onto land seeking food occasionally. The aura that emanates from its body intensifies to alert others if it is afraid or sad.
