Lomgull dives into the water to pluck seagrass that it uses to build its shoreline nest. The lily pad on its head helps provide cover from potential predators. If something gets too close, Lomgull flaps its wings and squawks loudly to scare it.

It makes its nest on a sheer cliff at the edge of the sea. In the evening, it takes great delight in popping out of rivers and startling people.
