Its body is protected by a hard black shell that allows it to blend perfectly into the darkness. Just before charging at an enemy, Umbpede causes the rings on its armored carapace to glow, giving it an advantage in battle.

It is usually motionless, but when attacked, it rotates at high speed and then crashes into its opponent. Umbpede evolved from exposure to the moon's energy pulses.
