Wild Volcaking are most often seen sunbathing on warm days, and after warming up their body they will hunt for food with great speed and power. The rest of the time, they hibernate in underground caves to conserve energy.

Hordes of Volcaking gather around trees when fruits come into season. A sea of fire engulfs the surroundings of their battles, since they use their six wings to scatter their ember scales.
