Electakarp jump high out of the water during thunderstorms, and it is said that they will evolve if hit by lightning. However, on one occasion when an Electakarp was observed being struck, it merely fainted from the electrical overload.
Its swimming muscles are weak, so it is easily washed away by currents. When a storm approaches, it competes with others to scale heights that are likely to be stricken by lightning.
