Elekarp flails about on land to build up an electrical charge. It discharges this energy as soon as it returns to the water, so it is unclear why it does this.
Its swimming muscles are weak, so it is easily washed away by currents. If it touches metal and discharges the electricity it has stored in its body, an Elekarp begins swinging its arms in circles to recharge itself.
