The mushroom on Gasect's back constantly produces ghostly spores, which will be blown away by the wind. These spores pass through walls to settle inside abandoned buildings, growing into ghostly mushroom caps only visible in dim light.

Gasect are known to infest the roots of large trees en masse and drain nutrients. When exposed to a strong wind, a Gasect's gaseous body quickly dwindles away.
