Mudsect wander along shorelines until they locate a sufficiently large tree. Upon locating one, they emit spores that signal to other Mudsect to gather. Once a number of them have massed, they uproot the tree, feasting on the nutritious roots.

Mudsect are known to infest the roots of large trees en masse and drain nutrients. On land, it can powerfully lift large boulders by planting its four feet and heaving.
