To spread its spores, it tries to elevate itself on its tail as high as possible. It's very nervous, however, and will abandon the attempt and flee at the first sign of danger.
Wild Patret seek out groups of other Pokémon infested with the same fungus. While the rest of the group sleeps or feeds, Patret lifts itself up on its tail to watch for threats and will be fed by food the other Pokémon gather.
They take turns standing guard when it is time to sleep. A Patret has parasitic tochukaso mushrooms growing on its back.
